Following a couple of requests from clients about LinkedIn Company Pages I have decided to write a complete guide to creating a LinkedIn Company Page profile.
Once you get the hang of LinkedIn your company page can become an extension of your website and personal profile. It is an additional virtual shop front for your business where you can add services, staff members and videos about your company. Like most social media is it free to use and is a great tool for promoting your product, service and business. Search engines like Google will also take your engagement with social media into account when ranking your website. This means that major search engines are, for the first time, using social media as an SEO signal. With all these positives factors ask yourself is there any reason why you aren’t using LinkedIn?
Steps to Setting Up Your LinkedIn Company Page
1) Set up a LinkedIn Account
The first thing you need to do is set up a personal LinkedIn account. It will only take you 5 minutes. During the registration process you can connect with friends and colleagues through your various e-mail addresses. I would recommend doing that as they might follow your Company Page later on. Go to www.linkedin.com to set up your account.
2) Create your LinkedIn Company Page
To create your Company Page login to LinkedIn. Then go the menu item “Companies”. To the right of the page you will see a button to add company.
You will then have to add basic information about your company, like its description, number of employees, and industry it operates in.
Next you’ll be able to add a logo, locations, and a feed for your company blog. (An RSS Feed will automatically update LinkedIn with your latest blogs.)

3) Add Additional LinkedIn Company Features
So what else can you do? If want to edit your account at add stage to add services, company employees or post jobs go to Companies – “Your Company Name” in the menu bar. You will then be brought to your Company Page. Click Edit on the right of the page and this will allow you to edit your page.

Once you are in the edit interface you can:
Overview
- Edit your company description
- Add company specialities
- Add your Twitter Id (This will create a feed from your Twitter Account direct to your LinkedIn Company Page)
- Add your Company Blog RSS Feed
- Careers (Post job posts in your company)
Services
- Add your product or service to this page.
- Remember to add some images and video to your services. This will help your services stand out.
- People can then recommend your services on your Company Profile.

Analytics
- View how many people have visited your company page here.
Once you have built your Company Profile you can promote it on your website or business cards. This can be done with button ads or your Company Page URL. There are also a number of upgrades that you can get for your LinkedIn profile. This can cost up to €100 a month. The upgrades are for Companies who are targeting LinkedIn for leads, sales and recruitment.
So that is the basics of setting up your LinkedIn Company Page. If you have any questions about anything in this blog post add them to the comments below and I would be more than happy to find a solution!
