The Language of SEO

As a Search Engine Optimisation analyst, working alongside my partner can be difficult - he is excellent at engaging socially, blogs in particular - so how to keep up ?  As someone who is not naturally creative, I must still promote our business to the best of my ability online.

5 SEO Tips to optimise a photographer’s website

On my down time from work as an SEO consultant I can often be found with a camera in my hand. Photography is a hobby that I have enjoyed for over 10 years. As a (wannabe) photographer one of the problems I face when displaying my photographs is that Google does not understand images. It cannot see the detail of information that humans can see. There are a number of ways that you can help search engines like Google to help understand your webpage with images. This is especially important if the only content on your page is an image. I will use my photography website as an example of how to help Google understand and find your images. The webpage shows a photograph of Galway City and I have outlined 5 ways that I have optimized the page to help search engines understand and read my photograph.

SEO Blog - Patience is an SEO virtue

SEO Blog - Patience is a Virtue

As Damien Dempsey sings “Patience, give me some of that patience”. If you are thinking of pursuing an SEO campaign, “patience” is a word that you should get used. SEO is a process that does not affect your website overnight. It takes a number of weeks for changes to make a real impact in your search engine rankings. I would be wary of any company that promises you number one results in Google in a day.

SEO as a Service

Is Ireland ready for SEO as a service.  This is a question I have been asking myself while trying to get an SEO Services company off the ground and my conclusion is not what I was expecting.

Irish companies in general still have an immature online presence compared to those in other countries such as the US and UK.  The main reason behind this has been the lack of broadband connectivity outside of Dublin.  What is the point of being online if 90% of your clients will never access a website?

Organic SEO Videos

For a bit of fun myself and Paddy created a couple of videos this week to start up our new YouTube channel and promote Organic SEO at the same time.
