What is Bing?

Bing is a search engine similar to Google and Yahoo. It is Microsoft’s search engine and is renowned for it’s stripped back and simple interface. It has recently launched TV ad campaigns in Ireland to promote the claim that it gives more focused search results than Google. It claims to be Google minus the search results that you don’t want. Try Bing out and see what you think.

Why am I mentioning Bing?

Bing, similar to Yahoo and Google, has a webmasters tools facility. Web master tools are important for the online marketing of your website. What is cool about Bing?

• Images - Every day a different image appears on the Bing search page. As a photographer I am always interested to see what type of shots they have displayed. They are usually of an excellent standard.

• Clean - Bing does not have that cluttered look that Google has. It it easy to navigate for users and has a very clean design.

What is not Cool?

• Limited - While Bing may be simple and clean it does not offer the same amount of services as Google. Google has a lot to offer from Google places, Gmail, YouTube to name just a few.

At the moment Google has a lot more to offer in terms of search accessory services. But if you want a clean and simple search engine that is easy to navigate and find what you are looking the try out Bing.
